11 February 2013

well that was an exciting weekend at Holmes and Murphy vets they had inpatients in over the weekend so I got to sleep upstairs with the vets. Unfortunately as you all know this Llandudno weather isn't very good and it was quite windy but I managed to snuggle by the radiator. I wasn't very popular this morning when I took on the role of alarm clock in my defense it was only a few gentle nudges but I guess I don't have a snoooze button but hey it got me my breakfast he he

5 February 2013

Well it falls to me Fudge to be the spokes PAW son again for Holmes and Murphy Vets. Today has been a good day I have been out helping on reception even had some one ask for me so obviously the godo people of Llandudno are getting used to my legend status! I was asked to inform anyone potentially reading this that has a dog to join The west shore dog walers page on facebook as they have been writing some useful stuff on where dogs are allowed to walk and where there are restrictions. Personally I think why have a dog when you can have me!and I don't need ti stand out in the rain and wind and do my business! talking of which off to find a warm bed

FEBRUARY FACTS KEEPING UP WITH THE BATES'S

Well here we are already into month 2. Not sure where the time has gone but it has been another good month. Its a shame cats and dogs don't have a tooth fairy as our dental promotion has been very popular and we have so far removed 87 teeth. Thats not as impressive as it sounds as most average cats have 30 teeth and dogs have 42 but still in my day the tooth fairy used to leave 10p per tooth and that would have been £8.70. The important fact though is that all the animals we have done the dentals on have come back and the owners have reported that their animals seem much happier. So in January we manged to see some rabbits, (we even took some on that had been seized by the RSPCA that we are looking to rehome) so statistically wise our clients now are 58% canine, 30% feline 6% lagamorph (rabbit), 4% reptile and 2% Camelid (if you haven't seen check out our facebook page or gallery as we have a llama as a client!
So in typical fashion our most popular client surname is now Jones and we have 11 Jones clients. The Bates's are still at 5 registered clients. Our most popular animal names are now Molly and Poppy although thanks to the olympics we now have a Mo, a puppy called Ennis and unlike their name sake two hamsters called Bradley and Wiggins who were lethargic.
WHAT HAVE WE LEARNT?
If you are a fan of sunbeds or fake tan and hold a panther chameleon it will turn orange and try and blend in with its surroundings!
British telecom are still on our most unhelpful pile and the complaint letter is up to 7 pages! We have been having phone calls from people looking for Gwynedd plastics which has lead to lots of confusion
Hello Holmes and Murphy vets
Hello is that Gwynedd Plastics
No its a veterinary practice
Do you sell plastic
No sorry its a veterinary practice
Why do you advertise that you sell plastic then .........
BEST SURPRISE
We had a cat in called Angel that we rehomed. She came back in to see us and is settling in really well with her new family, she seemed very happy and her family love her already.
MOST UNUSUAL REQUEST
Do you treat llamas? ........................ and the rest is history
HOPES FOR MONTH 3
In February we are launching  consultations for our clients with an opthalmologist. The lady coming has her certificate in opthalmology and usually sees referrals but rather than having to travel to her she comes to us, so hopefully this will take off.
We also hope to continue welcoming lots more new clients and hope that our new on line registration prooves popular and yes we still hope that we get our phone line sorted!
