Well as of June 3rd we have been open 6
months and what a 6 months its has been! We have been very lucky to have
registered so many lovely clients. Back in the day when we were sat
with the bank manager we had to show how we would survive for the first 6
month and not see anybody. Initially Sarah and Fiona were going to do
extra locum work to support the business and having staff wasn't in the
plan till year 2 but we have been so busy the locum work was stopped and
we are now up to a team of 8! Guess we should have known when we were
in painting and had people trying to register!
The first 6 months
has been a good learning curve and there have been lots of highlights.
The absolute highlight was at our open day when a lovely couple called
Mr and Mrs Williams brought Buster along.
Before we set up together both
Fiona and Sarah in their previous jobs dealt with Buster. He was very
poorly and had a condition that was destroying his red blood cells. The
Williams said that without Fiona and Sarah Buster wouldn't be around and
had brought him along to show their support on our open day which for
us was really lovely and the reason why we do this.

Other
highlights for us and probably the clients involved is that when we
first started we had 4 clients (we call them the Awesome Foursome)that
came to us the very first week we opened, and in those initial opening
weeks we saw them a lot. Now sadly we don't see them as much as their
animals are better which is good and bad but ladies we miss you!
- Mrs Edwards
- Miss Federick
- Mrs HoneyMan
- Mrs Lau
Miss
Federick and Mrs Honeyman were also at our very first puppy party.
These have proved really popular and we now have to run two a week to
try and get everyone in!
Since we opened we have been approached
by local schools to talk to students. Rudy the llama is still a popular
topic and people still comment on his visit and his photos from the
website. He is still probably our most unusal client with Mina the
monitor lizard second. Snot face still remains our most unusal clients
name and I think that will be a title that no one can beat, thankfully
we haven't yet had to call him in from a packed waiting room.
Molly's/Holly's/Tilly's/Milly's
and Ben's still remain popular names although in recent weeks we have
had a run of Delilah's registering maybe Tom Jones had a birthday or
something and it was played a lot on the radio ???
We have managed
to rehome 9 stray cats and 3 rabbits although we still have Heidi (our
ten year old ginger female) here at the surgery desperately looking
for someones knee to make her home, she is very affectionate and
looking for someone special to have her.

Thank you for all your support and we look forward to the next 6 months!
